Creating Reports and Forms

 

Purpose: To demonstrate the ability to create reports and forms.

 

Problem: Your supervisor at GetItNow Electronics wants you to create reports and forms combining data from the Outlets and Sales Rep tables using the techniques learned in Chapter 4, 5, 6, &7.

 

Instructions: Using the database Assignment8 – Database, execute the following tasks:

Part1: Creating reports

1.            Create a report that should look similar to the report shown in Figure 1. In the report, you should accomplish the following:

ü  Display all the fields in the same order and data in the same locations, as shown in the Figure (2points).

ü  Group the report by Job Type and sort by Full Name within Job Type (1point).

ü  Include totals for Quota and YTD Sales for each grouping and all the records (1point).

ü  Add Date/Time, Page Number, and Title that is similar to those in figure 1 (1point).

ü  Save the report as Sales Rep (0.5point).

2.            Create the report, Sales Rep by Outlet, as shown in Figure 2. You will need to use both the Sales Rep and Outlets tables. In the report, you should accomplish the following:

ü  Display all the fields in the same order and data in the same locations, as shown in the Figure (2points).

ü  Group the report by Outlet ID and Sort by Full Name (1point)

ü  Add a new calculated filed, Over/Under Quota, using expression: YTD Sales/Quota, format it as Percent with 2 decimal places (2points).

ü  Include a total for the YTD Sales field for each Outlet ID and all Outlet IDs (1point).

ü  Include an average for Quota and Over/Under Quota for each Outlet ID and all Outlet IDs (1point).

ü  Add Date/Time, Page Number, and Title that is similar to those in figure 2 (1point).

ü  Save the report as Sales Rep by Outlet (0.5point).

 

 

 

Part2: Creating reports

3.            Create a form, Outlets, as shown in Figure 3.You will need to use both the Sales Rep and Outlets tables. In the form, you should accomplish the following:

ü  Include all the fields in the same order, as shown in figure 3 (2points)

ü  Have a subform, Sales Rep Subform (2points)

ü  Add Date/Time and Title (1point)

ü  Save the form as Outlets (1 point)

4.            Save the assignment using a title, Your Name_Assingment8 Access. Close it and submit it correctly in the blackboard. **Ensure it could be opened on blackboard and it is the correct file. Refer to assignment5 about how to submit the assignment if neccessay! You would get a Zero if you upload the wrong file or the file could NOT be opened.
